The Perry Story.

In the early 1920’s Sarasota, and much of Florida, boomed. During these exciting times, a businessman from Atlanta named Perry Adair conceived a plan for an exclusive country club in Sarasota. To ensure the success of the project, Perry retained the most respected golf architect of the time, Donald Ross.

Perry also recruited his personal friend, Robert “Bobby” Jones to be the sales manager for the real estate surrounding the club. Bobby Jones was the world’s best amateur golfer at the time and remarked in his autobiography that he considered the course, “…one of the best in America.” This legendary golf course now goes by the name, Sara Bay Country Club, and is located in close proximity to The Bayside Club.
